Spituk is 8 kms from leh ,surrounded by farmhouses & well watered flields this gompa dates back to 15th century Initially it belonged to the Kadampa school then during the life time of king Gragspa Bumideit was converted to Gelukpa order,It houses a collection of ancient masks, antique arms, icons and numerous thankas. & has got shrines of Hindu Death Godess Kali & of Tantric Deity Vajra Bhairava. the gompa is famous for its annual festival which takes place during the month of january during which some rare statues of Buddha are unveiled.
